Art Class Materials Fees

The Art Class Materials Fees Program subsidizes art class materials fees for students in financial need. Applications are available via the Grand Haven High School Art Department.
Eligibility: Grand Haven Area Public School visual art students who fulfill the following requirements:
1) students who are currently taking art courses at GHHS,
2) who are experiencing financial hardship,
3) and who do not qualify for other locally existing programs that assist with class fees.
Exhibition & Portfolio Preparation Program
As GHAPS art students prepare college admission portfolios or prepare works for exhibition, those experiencing financial hardship may seek assistance from the Exhibition & Portfolio Preparation Program.

Why are there Art Materials Class Fees at the high school level?

The rising costs of art supplies along with reductions in school funding has impacted the public schools' ability to maintain quality art programs with adequate supplies. In order to do so, many schools require art class fees for their elective art courses.
